Transformation
It is not just about a body transformation. It has much more to it, confidence, attitude, positivity, skills and achievement.
It started back in 2016 when I was weighing around 64 kgs and was suffering from health problems like PCOD (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), irregular cycles, thyroid. I was so heavy with that big belly of mine that I even had problem in sitting on the floor and standing for a long time. When I was diagnosed with PCOD doctor told me that I am becoming obese and will be having serious health problems if it doesn’t stop here. I tried to control my diet but it did not work out much, as I was not consistent. I couldn’t go below 64 kgs. Gaining 3 kgs and again losing 2 kgs and then stopping at 64 kgs was my weight variation. I realized its not going to work like this. I decided to set my goals and targeted to achieve that. I did not have much knowledge about diet and fitness, no one to guide so it was kind of challenging for me. Still remember going to office gym for 2-3 days and coming back with blank face with no idea of what to do in gym. Googling here and there I made my own diet plan and workout routine. I trained myself to the best I could and lost around 14 kgs in 3 months. That was my 1st transformation.

I got rid of PCOD and irregular cycles but continued to take the thyroid tablets even after reducing weight as per doctor’s suggestion. They told me not to stop taking Thyronorm as anytime the levels might go up and cause hormonal imbalance. I can still count not 1 but 3 doctors told me the same. One day mom questioned me “Why don’t you stop taking those tablets”, “Are you planning to take those tablet your entire life?” It made me think should I take doctor’s advise or mom’s, I decided to go with mom's. Controlled my diet, stopped taking those tablets and have been regular with my workouts. Its been a year now and those tablets are still lying in a corner of my kitchen cupboard most probably expired.
People say thyroid
is like diabetics once you get it, you will always be dependent on thyronorm to
control your thyroid levels, the same way a diabetic takes insulin. But I don’t
believe that. If you can make your body capable of generating those hormones or
balancing those hormones which you were deprived of earlier I don’t think you
have to be dependent on any medicine. I am not a doctor but can tell you this
from my own experience.
So what’s next..
Before starting gym, never thought I would be continuing it after losing weight but gym is like an
addiction once you start you can’t leave. It becomes a part of your
daily routine. I was already lean weighing 51 kgs. I didn’t have to do this
program. But being lean is not the end of all. There is always more to it. I
was not happy being lean. Always wanted to get better and better everyday.
I started Kris
Gethin’s 8 Week Hardcore Trainer Reboot on 20th Oct 2018. This program will test you in
real how strong and determined you are to get what you want. It was harder den
my 1st transformation as I had to lose body fat and at the
same
time gain muscle mass or at least maintain the same muscle mass. How
hard this
can be? This can be really hard. It was very intense and rigorous loaded
with 1.5
hrs of workout and 2 cardio sessions daily starting from 20 mins and
each
session going up by 5 mins every week. Preparing 6 meals a day that too
measured in kitchen weighing scale and a office job wasn’t easy at all. I
followed the program very diligently, each set, each rep, every cardio
session
I made sure I did it right. Even did my Week 5 Day 2, 40 mins cardio
session
on fever because at the end of the program I did not want to look back
and regret
that I missed something and could have done better. There will be times
when
your body will give up, but you need to convince your mind to keep
pushing and
get going. I also felt like giving up many times but when you stand in
front of
the mirror and see your body getting changed you just don’t feel like
giving
up. Every bit of you will tell you to complete it. Time management is
very crucial. Last 3 weeks when the cardio sessions went up to 45-55
mins, I
hardly got time to rest and sleep. No time to talk or chat or watch TV.
Most of the time I was lost not knowing what to do, what to talk, what
to think, how
to respond, how to react. My life was on run. Entire day I will be
running here and there, either
in gym or office or travelling and when at home either cooking or doing
cardio
in stairs. My daily routine was like wake up, go to gym, come back home,
get
ready, go to office, again go for evening cardio, come back home and
cook your
food. By the time I thought of relaxing the day is already over and its
time to
sleep. Felt like 24 hours was less, how I wish that I had a little bit
of extra
time for myself. Exhaustion, frustration, mood swings, cravings will be
at peak
all the time. Diet played a key role. 70% of my transformation was
because of
the diet. No oil, no sugar, no form of sugar(fruits), no form of fat, no
milk
products except for low fat paneer(Indian cottage cheese) for 56 days.
All the food prepared was without oil, yes you read
that correct I didn’t even use a single drop of oil not even olive oil.
No
cheat day or cheat meal. I was very
much strict with my macros, hardly did a gram here and there. It was
extremely tough though to control those taste buds of mine but was left
with no choice. There is no point is cheating and regretting later. I
wanted to
do everything right and see how it goes.
This
program gave
some unreal results and all in a natural way. I feel different in all ways, more
active,
lighter, faster and stronger. Started the program at 51.5 kgs with 28.1%
body fat and ended at 45.8 kgs with 17.2% body fat. Dropped 5.7 kgs of
weight and 10.9% of body fat. In
the process of burning 6.4 kgs of body fat mass, have gained 1 kg of lean muscle mass. Most of
the fat loss was from the abdomen area. Still can’t believe I got rid of
my
bloated tummy and love handles. So yes this possible to achieve and it
can be done with Indian food and condiments and suits Indian body type
as well
if you are doing it correct. After completing this program I realized
that the
master key of popping those abs out is not the killer abs out, its the
killer
diet and all these days I was doing killer abs workout😂. So its truly
said “Abs cook in kitchen”.
You
need a lot of will power to complete this program. Its everything or nothing.
To all out there who
are trying to lose some pounds or get in shape I know how hard it is but never
give up, believe in yourself and keep trying. You got to stay focused and be determined to achieve your goals. Nothing comes easily, you have to
work hard for it and earn it. Hard work and sacrifices always pays off. Don't
give a second thought about it. Have patience and be consistent, results will definitely come along. If you
are not getting results, it means either you are not doing it correct or
not pushing off your limits. Never cheat on your workout and diet. If you are
doing so, you are cheating on yourself and not anyone!

Love you all
